HIGHLAND, IL, Intersolar 2010 – Cooper B-Line, a global provider of innovative, labor-saving support systems and enclosure solutions for engineered facility subsystem applications, today announced its revolutionary and highly flexible new ARISTATM Mounting System for solar photovoltaic (PV) commercial rooftop applications. The versatile new ARISTATM solar PV mounting system, designed to meet budgetary and installation requirements.
The ARISTATM system’s ultimate advantage is its high degree of labor savings. Unlike other PV mounting systems, the field adjustable ARISTATM system’s pre-assembled fittings and clamps make installation quick and easy, resulting in a reduced cost per watt that lowers total installation costs. The highly adaptable ARISTATM system can be used to support virtually any solar PV panel type or size, and can be landscape or portrait mounted. Ballasted and positively tied options provide added flexibility, while the system’s hinged design allows for rooftop maintenance without disconnecting panels.
“As the need for renewable energy has evolved, Cooper B-Line has been creating custom engineered solutions that not only meet, but exceed our customer’s requirements,” said Kevin Kissling, President of Cooper B-Line. “One major requirement that we’re now able to satisfy with our ARISTATM time and labor savings during installation. With so few parts to install on the job site, the ARISTATM system maximizes both time and budget. We’re confident the industry will benefit from this practical new PV mounting solution.”
Constructed of standard, pre-assembled electrical components, the ARISTATM frames provide durable support for solar PV panels, effectively angling panels from 5 to 35 degrees at 5 degree increments for maximum performance.
With a combination of standard pre-assembled components and no loose hardware, the ARISTATM system is unparalleled when it comes to time and labor savings during installation. The unique hinged design requires only one person to assemble the mounting frame, resulting in one of the quickest mounting assembly in the industry with a lower cost per watt to install. A pre-assembled ballast pan easily adheres to the bottom of the frame for non-penetrating ballast mounting applications, while
mounting kits are offered for positively tied mounting applications. Cooper B-Line’s DURA-BLOKTM supports are used as the base of the mounting system, helping to reduce potential wear to the roof.
“The ARISTATM those in the commercial and government building sectors,” continued Kissling, “And, because Cooper BLine’s
Solar Team is available to provide the best solutions through all phases of the design and installation process, Cooper B-Line is equipped to meet even the most complex solar PV mounting requirements.”
With a continued commitment to environmental responsibility, Cooper B-Line insists on the use of recycled materials in B-Line products whenever possible. The ARISTATM supports are made of 100 percent recycled rubber, making them eligible for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) credits.
Cooper B-Line is an active member of the Solar Energies Industry Association (SEIA) and the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), and maintains a dedicated Solar Team comprised of experienced engineers that focus on solving the specific challenges of the energy market. Cooper B-Line products are also designed, manufactured and delivered by a network of U.S.- based offices and factories, many with unionized workforces. Over 90 percent of its products – including the ARISTATM with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act's (ARRA) Buy American provision. This delivers the powerful benefit of an American-made product portfolio that is eligible for projects with a domestic sourcing requirement for construction materials.
In addition to the ARISTATM system, Cooper B-Line also offers an array of custom engineered solar solutions.

Significant investments are being made throughout the United States in construction projects related to our national infrastructure through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Hundreds of projects in transportation, water / environmental, high efficiency buildings, energy, and technology are underway or being planned that utilize Cooper B-Line products.
One requirement of the ARRA is that all iron, steel and manufactured goods used in a public building or public work that receives funds from the Act be manufactured in the USA. This is known as the Buy American provision of the ARRA. It is further required that documentation or certification of that status be available to provide to the project owners on demand.
Cooper B-Line has analyzed the eligibility of our approximately 140,000 finished good SKUs to the Buy American provision of the ARRA. While Cooper B-Line is a global manufacturer, the vast majority of products sold into the North American market are produced at our plants in the United States by our skilled, unionized workforce. This allows over 90% of Cooper B-Line's finished goods to be compliant to the Buy American provision of the ARRA.
In order to simplify and expedite the process for identifying the ARRA status of these parts to our customers, we have developed a database that contains the ARRA eligibility status of all active Cooper B-Line finished goods. Beginning Monday, February 8th , all Cooper B-Line customer service representatives will have access to this database which can simply show the user the certification status on the screen or it can publish a certification report for the requested parts with one of the four following stated conditions –
For further information, please contact any customer service representative at Cooper B-Line who will be able to produce an ARRA certification document for specific part numbers.
